Rulid (roxithromycin) is an antibiotic from the group of macrolides with a broad spectrum of action.
It is produced in tablets of 150 mg.
It is used in the treatment of inflammation of the pharynx (pharyngitis), tonsils (tonsillitis), sinuses (sinusitis), pneumonia, bronchitis, skin and soft tissue infections (abscesses, furunculosis, erysipelas), urethritis (except gonorrhea).
The daily dose of the drug for children is 5-8 mg per kg of body weight. It is divided into 2 meals before meals, washed down with water.
The duration of the treatment course is 10 days. It is determined by the doctor. In case of renal insufficiency, the dose is reduced (doctor).
Undesirable effects: nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea (occasionally with blood), may be a temporary violation of liver function. ROCEFIN (ceftriaxone) is a cephalosporin antibiotic prescribed for the treatment of children with sepsis, meningitis, infectious diseases of bones, joints, soft tissues, skin, as well as for the treatment of pneumonia, bronchitis, otitis media, inflammation of the frontal and maxillary sinuses; gonorrhea.
It is produced in vials containing 250 or 500 mg of ceftriaxone, packaged with a solvent (1% lidocaine solution) in ampoules of 2 or 3 ml. Before use, 250 or 500 mg of the drug is sterically dissolved in 2 ml of solvent and administered intramuscularly once a day.
The dose of the drug for newborns (up to 2 weeks) is 20-50 mg / kg; from 3 weeks to 12 years — 20-80 mg / kg; after 12 years - 1.0 g (the drug is dissolved in 3 ml of 1% lidocaine solution). The duration of rocefin treatment is usually 4-7 days.
Undesirable effects: the child may experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, inflammation of the gums and tongue, sometimes pain in the right hypochondrium (stagnation of bile in the gallbladder). There may be allergic reactions: rash, itching, urticaria, edema, various forms of erythema.
